On Saturday 17 June, the members of the Ram In Staff Association and their partners were treated to a very successful outing.
The Oranje Buiten beach pavilion on the banks of the Markermeer in Hoorn was readied for the reception of the members and their partners, that afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
Coaches were laid on for both the outward and return journeys, and those that had to come from further away were offered hotel accommodation for the night.
The weather gods looked upon us favourably: the mercury measured a temperature of 28 degrees and there was not a cloud in the sky, which was half the battle.
A programme had been put together for the event allowing those present to make a choice in advance from a number of possible activities:
- a 2-hour sailing trip on the Markermeer
- a cruise in a launch through Hoorn
- a ‘Deadline’ escape game at the pavilion
- a guided electric kick scooter tour through the surrounding area
The invitees made their way to their selected part of the programme at 4:00 p.m. and everyone could thus enjoy his or her chosen activity.
After the respective activities were over, there were drinks and snacks for all concerned and there was an opportunity to share experiences and swap the photos taken.
Then it was time to enjoy the carefully compiled menu of well-presented, tasty dishes of meat, fish, seafood, pasta, vegetables, fries and, to round it all off, a delicious dessert.
Vroom is nothing without you!
After the meal, Peter Vroom thanked the Staff Association committee for their efforts in creating yet another highly successful day. Corali Swart, Niels Veerman, Robbert Tames, Arjan Scholten and Bram van der Linden were given a big thank-you in the form of a bunch of flowers.
At 9:00 p.m. the DJ started mixing his sounds, it was time to hit the dance floor and we were even treated to a singer hired specially for the evening. De Engelbewaarder reverberated for quite some time.
The enthusiastic Staff Association managed once again to make it a wildly convivial, active event with a culinary edge, doing our motto VROOM IS NOTHING WITHOUT YOU proud.
