With a force of two big red pile drivers, we are creating the foundations for no fewer than 296 apartments and an underground car park in Amsterdam. We are installing more than 1,111 vibrated piles with noise-reducing jackets.

Cruquiuswerf is the last, somewhat forgotten peninsula in the sequence KNSM-eiland, Sporenburg, Borneo-eiland in Amsterdam's Eastern Docklands. This was once a thriving port, and is now a great place to live. The views over the water are incredible. People swim, sail, have lunch, parade, party and daydream... This spot is just 10 minutes from the centre of Amsterdam, and yet it is a peaceful residential area, there being no through traffic on the individual peninsulas. You can find all those benefits - the endless water, the proximity of the city centre (in one direction), the ring road (in the other) and the peace of a peninsula - on Cruquiuseiland.
