Sanne van Zoeren (in the marketing and communications department of Vroom Funderingstechnieken (Vroom Foundation Technology), 3rd from the left) can be seen here presenting an interim prosthesis to Sabine van Steenbergen (physiotherapist and co-ordinator, to the right on the photo), Els Albers (physiotherapist, to the left on the photo) and Jeroen Groot (rehabilitation physician).

“During the rehabilitation process of a particular worker, we came into contact with Reade (Overtoom site) in Amsterdam. This is the number one centre for physical medicine and rehabilitation and rheumatology. Together with the Reade Foundation, we examined which projects we might be able to support. As a result of this, Vroom has donated an interim prosthesis (inflatable prosthesis) to Reade,” says Sanne.

Excellent resource

Rehabilitation physician Jeroen Groot adds: "The ‘inflatable bag’ is an interim prosthesis that is suitable for stumps of various sizes and can be used for all clients without much in the way of modification. The next phase is to take measurements for a customised individual prosthetic leg by the fitter, but as this can take several weeks, clients can nonetheless carry on practising in the intervening period thanks to the interim prosthesis. Each year over 35 clients will be able to use the interim prosthesis. On behalf of Reade and the Reade Foundation, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Vroom Funderingstechnieken for this valuable donation.”
