51 apartments 98 piles

We are making DPA PLUS screw piles for the foundations of 51 apartments for the Ravelijn project on the Arent Krijtsstraat in Diemen.

DPA PLUS screw piles form part of a cast-in-situ soil displacement screw pile system. The soil is pushed to the side so only a little of the disturbed soil can enter the casing.

It is a low-vibration process, which is important where piles are installed close to adjacent walls that could easily be damaged by subsidence and/or vibrations, as is the case at this building site. DPA PLUS screw piles are particularly suitable for residential construction, non-residential construction and other new-build projects where it is necessary to limit nuisance or disturbance in the immediate vicinity. As a result, they are very good for urban-regeneration projects: low in vibrations and noise pollution compared with driven pile systems.

See the 3D product animation for this pile system here.

Affordable rental homes in the greater Amsterdam area

The apartment block on the Arent Krijtsstraat in Diemen is made up of 51 rental apartments. Ten apartments are configured as apartments intended to be shared by friends. These apartments have individual bedrooms and bathrooms, whereas the kitchen and lounge area are shared. The work of art on the façade of the building refers to the historical context of the site. The masonry incorporates an abstract representation of one of the oldest maps of Diemen. The façade shows the section of the town in which the building is located.
