We are drilling almost noiselessly and vibration-free in this urban project, as the surrounding area is susceptible to damage from settlement and/or vibrations. With DPA screw piles, which displace soil, a driving tube makes a hole in the ground into which concrete with reinforcement bars is poured as far as the depth of the load-bearing sand stratum. One of our employees is lifted to the appropriate height in a man basket to attach and detach the hoses and reinforcement bars at the top of the drilling rig.
60 apartments, Nieuwe Steen development
We are making over 200 DPA screw piles for the foundations of 60 apartments in the Nieuwe Steen development in Hoorn.
Happy with the great project
Contractor Ooms Bouw en Ontwikkeling is building 60 affordable rental apartments on the Saffier in the Nieuwe Steen development: 48 two-room apartments and 12 three-room apartments. These dwellings, too, will be fitted with GSHPs (ground source heat pumps), for which the heating wells have already been drilled. The client, Intermaris, is opting for small-ish dwellings on this site, as the number of households in Hoorn with one or two people is forecast to rise over the next few years.
Cees Tip, managing director of Intermaris, congratulates the Ooms team on its rapid progress and the smooth collaboration. “The wells for the GSHP have already been sunk, which makes this a sustainable plan. We will soon have another 60 dwellings for our residents, and there can be no doubt about the fact that we need them.”
Councillor with responsibility for the portfolio, Marion van der Ven, gives her compliments to everyone who has worked on the project. “It took time before we were able to install the first piles, but it's going to be a fantastic project and I'm happy about that. I trust that the new residents will soon be living here in comfortable surroundings.”
