The school was designed around an open, multi-functional courtyard, the ‘agora’, the outline of which can be traced on foot and which features seating and all the staircases to other levels. This central space is visible both from the ground level and from the first floor, and is the focal point of life in the school, forming a continuous line of development passing each of the classrooms. The north-facing side of the school, like the south-facing side, has two entrances, separating pre-schoolers from lower, middle and upper pupils. There are two playgrounds, one on the north side and one on the south side, for younger and older pupils. The school is scheduled for completion in autumn 2020.

115 piles2436 (total length of piles)
We were commissioned by contractor J.M. Putter to install vibrated piles as part of the building of a new Roman Catholic primary school in Krommenie, Noord-Holland. To give the building sufficient foundation strength we need a length of 2.5 km, or 115 individual piles. They are installed with our Hitachi CX600GLS.
