For Katwijk-based contractor KBM, 24 DPA piles with a diameter of 310 mm have been realized measuring a total of over 400 m. The realization process was completed within two days.
Execution
The DPA piles will be finished off right on working level with the reinforcement baskets sticking out from the pile heads. The advantage is that through the pile heads, the foundation can immediately be poured and connected to rebars. Cutting and cleaning the pile heads is not applicable in this event. In order to produce the piles, only the delivery of concrete, reinforcement baskets and base plates is necessary. The production process of these drilled piles is completely low-vibration and low-sound.
Checking the piles
To make sure that the piles that have been applied do not show any failures, they are subject to an acoustic continuity test. The test is being done after the piles have been hardened for a minimum of 5 days. After this test, the follow-up activities can be started.
