We started in December 2022 with the pile-driving work for the pre-cast piles and, at the start of February 2023, completed our operations by installing pre-cast foundation beams and a pre-cast lift shaft pit.
The construction time in this project was significantly reduced, there was less deployment of production personnel needed and less heavy equipment and vehicle movements were required. The combination of pre-cast concrete sections from Vroom Betonbouw and a piling system from Vroom Funderingstechnieken made significant savings, as always.
The complex is made up of several different unit types. At ground level, there are large lock-up boxes. One level up are the ‘level two’ units. These can be reached via a goods lift or concrete staircase. All units are finished with LED lighting, insulated overhead doors, coated floors and walls, and various power outlets.
Storage and work spaces
Demand for multifunctional, affordable work space continues to increase. The 56 boxes that PNO Garagebox completed in 2021 at De Lus 11, a business park in Schagen, have since been rented out. So PNO Garagebox started construction of phase 2, adding another 46 storage units.
The garage units are multifunctional spaces that are popular among small business owners in particular. The units are ideal, for instance, for joiners, painters and installers to store tools and materials, and to do DIY. Webshop owners, parcel deliverers, handymen and motor vehicle enthusiasts also use the lock-up garage units.
PNO Garagebox’s new garage unit complex will be right next to the existing complex. The site is completely fenced off, has two entrance gates and is equipped with solar panels and camera monitoring. The entrance gates and the overhead doors of the units can be opened via an app on the tenant’s mobile phone. Each lock-up garage has its own address and letter box. The site is spaciously laid out, so that tenants have room to load and unload, and to park.
