New build home on DPA screw piles

1 home38 piles

In the picturesque village of De Goorn (North Holland), Vroom Funderingstechnieken has installed DPA screw piles for a new construction project by Roelofsen Bouwbedrijf.

DPA (Drilling Push Aside) screw piles are a ground displacement pile system formed and screwed into the ground, minimizing excavated soil volume. The method produces low vibration, critical near structures sensitive to settlement or vibrations, making it highly suitable for sustainable foundation solutions.

Marshy Mudland

De Goorn, located in the municipality of Koggenland, North Holland, has about 3,610 inhabitants and, together with Avenhorn, forms the center of the municipality. Originally part of Berkhout, De Goorn became part of the new municipality of Wester-Koggenland in 1979. The name 'den Gore', dating from around 1312, refers to a marshy mudland, characteristic of this area. The transformation of De Goorn from a hamlet to a substantial village began with the parceling out at the end of the 1960s of the 20th century, where mainly meadows were converted into living space. The expansions in the 1970s and later additions of surrounding areas significantly increased the territory. As the main place of Wester-Koggenland since 1979, and with new building projects in the 1980s and '90s, De Goorn grew steadily. These developments culminated in a merger with Avenhorn in 2004, partly due to the establishment of the new shopping center De Vijverhof. Despite a planning mistake with the old shopping center, De Goorn remains a lively community with shops, restaurants, and a rich club life, supported by a historical background of growth and community development.
