Student village near Sloterdijk

In addition to an area for hotels and offices, the Sloterdijk station will become a residential area. Its first residents: students. Next to the elevated train track, 348 student homes will be built. Wasa Student Village gained permission from the city to build the homes here.

The building will temporary fill the undeveloped site next to the train track. They will be modular which means that they will be easy to take down in order to be placed somewhere else. The city plans to build 2,000 homes near Sloterdijk. As soon as they have been realized, the student homes will be gone again. As the apartments will be so small, the constructors will pay more attention to the public space. In between the homes, there will be terraces and plants. The buildings will have timber façades resulting into a village-like personality.
