Already before the contract was signed, Vroom Betonbouw was asked to think along in order to find a solution to carry out the project as good as possible. After contractor P. Meijer received the signed contract, the project was worked out until detail and carried out.
Accuracy during the piling process
Given the soil condition, the piling activities were carried out from a double partition. In order to guarantee the pile position, Vroom has performed continuous dimensioning tests during the entire piling process.
Theoretically, the foundation’s bottom side would end up under the waterline. Therefore, Vroom has come up with a prefab foundation solution.
Smart prefab solution
For this project, the entire foundation has been lifted up 322 mm as the level of the home remained the same. This level was realized by floor elements measuring 322 mm thick, placed in-depth inside the prefab foundation beams. On the outside, a rabbet was produced inside the foundation beams to allow masonry activities for the outside hollow wall.
Because the foundation had been lifted up, the piles could be poured into the dry part so that frost no longer posed a threat. This is how, during the winter days, the foundation beams could be mounted at a very high pace. There was plan for possible frost days allowing the contractor to anticipate on the progress of the project instead of waiting and seeing. This is how he prevented a lot of catching up with the real planning. For the water homes, Vroom has applied supporting elements to the foundation beams. These elements support the terrace over the water.
