Limburg Win(d)t will get a second windmill, this time on Albertkanaal’s right bank on the Genk Zuid business park. For this windmill which is located just over the Belgium border, we have applied the foundation piles with low-vibration levels. The windmill with a foundation system realized by H4A will be operational in 2015.
The two windmills have a maximum capacity of 3 mw each and a maximum top height of 150 m (mast + wings). The turbines willproduce 12,000 mwh of green energy on an annual basis which is the equivalent of the consumption of around 3,400 families.
The second windmill will be founded on 36 VGS piles with grout. The piles will be drilled as during the realization process, grout is being poured. The piles’ shaft diameter will be 508 as the top diameter will be 620 mm.
