Kaapstadweg distribution centre

In the western docks area of Amsterdam, work is being carried out in the project to build a logistics distribution centre featuring shipping bays and offices. The site lies between the Ruigoord alternative ‘artist's colony’ and the Amsterdam Golf Club.

The main feature of the industrial estate on the Kaapstadweg is its distribution centres. And it is not the first time that we have worked on a project here for Pleijsier Bouw. Building B3 features a 30,000 m2 warehouse, 2,500 m2 mezzanine floor, 3 loading bays, 30 goods platforms, 481 structural piles and approx. 9,000 floor piles.

BREEAM Certificate

The building of the distribution centre will be performed in such a way that a certificate attesting to sustainability can be issued by BREEAM. That is an abbreviation of Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method, and is a sustainability standard for construction methods with a minimal impact on the environment. A high BREEAM score has an influence on both the value and on the green image of the building and, moreover, could have an impact by creating a more healthy and productive living and working environment.
