As a Contract Manager within the foundation/construction sector, you will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and improving our general contracts and construction agreements. You will be closely involved in and provide advice on the contractual obligations and responsibilities between us and our clients.
In this role, you will work closely with our account managers, project managers, and technicians on challenging foundation projects. Within this collaboration, the contract manager plays a central role: he or she ensures that contracts adequately safeguard the legal interests of Vroom while keeping the commercial interests in sight. This requires flexibility, a healthy degree of risk appetite, and above all, the ability to strike the right balance between legal certainty, commercial strength, and identifying and managing risks. Under Vroom Funderingstechnieken fall our subsidiaries Hadek and VDB Funderingstechnieken. Implementation and monitoring of these activities also form part of the challenging range of tasks.
Your responsibilities
- Contract management: overseeing legal frameworks during negotiations and the conclusion, amendment, and execution of agreements, while safeguarding Vroom’s commercial interests. Advising internal teams on contractual obligations and their interpretation is also part of this.
- Risk management: identifying, evaluating, and managing contractual risks, including proactively suggesting improvements to minimise (legal) risks.
- Compliance: ensuring contractual obligations are fulfilled by both Vroom and the client, including taking appropriate measures in case of shortcomings or disputes.
- Relationship management: as the primary point of contact for contractual matters, you will maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Legal advice: acting as a legal advisor. You will be involved in project disputes (e.g. damages, delays) and other general legal matters. Providing proactive advice on relevant changes in construction-related legislation and regulations.
- Sparring partner: serving as a trusted advisor and discussion partner for the board, management, our employees, and external parties (e.g. lawyers).

Who are you?
- You have a higher professional education (HBO) level of working and thinking, and a degree in law, business administration, construction management, or a related field.
- You have work experience as a contract manager or corporate lawyer, preferably within the construction sector.
- You have knowledge of general private law (contract formation, general terms and conditions, (non-)compliance, default, damages).
- You have experience in negotiating and drafting agreements.
- You have knowledge of insurance-related aspects or are willing to acquire it.
- You have strong communication and negotiation skills.
- You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You can effectively multitask and work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- You are a team player with a proactive and results-oriented attitude.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations in the construction sector and construction contracts (UAV 2012 and UAV-GC) is considered a strong advantage.
