Situated next to the current location of the wholeshale shop, the distribution center measures a total surface of 40,000 m2. Scherpenhuizen is seeking a Breaam Outstanding Score for this building, the highest-level five-star certification. The distribution center will be fully equipped with LED lamps. Gas will not be used. The cooling-down system will be controlled by solar panels so that during almost the whole year, the building will be self-supplying. The high-quality remaining warmth from the cooling-down system will be used for washing the crates whereas the low-quality remaining warmth will be used in order to heat the office.
Completion has been scheduled for mid-February of 2017.
