786 Piles20000 m2

Construction of the first phase of the distribution centre, 20,000 m² of an area that will ultimately cover 49,000 m², has started on a site adjacent to the A15 in Ridderkerk. The first of a planned total of 786 piles was driven into the ground on 10 October. The client is DHG, and the project is being managed by Bouwbedrijf Vrolijk.

The acquisition of the land, which covers an area of land the size of which is almost unprecedented for Ridderkerk, involves around 85 per cent of the available land adjacent to the A15. The immediate availability of workers and the proximity of the Port of Rotterdam make the land highly suitable for a distribution centre where businesses with an e-commerce angle can establish themselves.
