Solid foundation for sustainable wind power

3 wind turbines126 piles

Sustainable energy is taking shape in Lage Rooijen, where three new wind turbines support the energy transition. Vroom Funderingstechnieken is laying the groundwork for this community-driven initiative that will soon deliver 40 million kWh annually.

Commissioned by H4A Windenergie, Vroom Funderingstechnieken constructed the foundations for three wind turbines along the A2 near Lage Rooijen. Each foundation consists of 42 vibro piles, type HBF, of which 21 are installed at an inclined angle (batter piles). This circular and partially inclined arrangement ensures optimal absorption of the immense forces at the base of the wind turbines. Vibro piles, type HBF, are particularly well suited for locations with variable subsoil conditions. All our foundation piles are acoustically tested and assessed by an independent engineering consultancy in accordance with our internal quality standards and national guidelines.

Energy for 11,500 households

Burgerwindpark A2 Lage Rooijen is an initiative by Coöperatie Bommelerwaar and Green Trust. The wind farm is expected to generate 40 million kilowatt-hours of sustainable energy annually—enough to power more than 11,500 households. The first turbine is scheduled to be commissioned in mid-2026. With this project, the initiators are taking a significant step towards a future less dependent on fossil fuels. By generating and investing locally in their own energy capacity, they actively contribute to a more sustainable Netherlands.
