At De Nieuwe Kern in the municipality of Ouder-Amstel we are delivering a sustainable foundation for 330 flex housing units. Using precast concrete solutions and close collaboration, we ensure efficiency, lower emissions and a very rapid construction pace.

For this project we are supplying and driving precast concrete piles in multiple phases. We also install precast foundation elements. These elements enable more efficient use of materials and help reduce transport movements, resulting in lower CO₂ emissions.

The precast foundation is ideally suited to these flexible homes, as it is designed to be demountable. When relocated, the elements can be easily disassembled and reused at a new location. Thanks to the close collaboration with Heddes, the construction process is exceptionally swift: on average the foundation elements are installed just a few days after the piles have been driven. This approach guarantees a tight programme and a robust base for the flex housing units.

330 flex housing units at Johan Cruijff ArenA

In the municipality of Ouder-Amstel, near the Johan Cruijff ArenA, 330 social rental homes are being developed on the former P-Bus site. These flex homes are manufactured as modular units at the Ursem Modulaire Bouwsystemen factory and will remain at this location for 15 years. They can then be relocated with ease. The homes are distributed across six buildings with a mix of studios and two- and three-room apartments. Centrally between the buildings there will be a timber pavilion with neighbourhood facilities, compliant with the Convenant Houtbouw MRA 2021–2025.
