Vroom Funderingstechnieken has completed the foundation works for the expansion of a factory in Groningen. This expansion represents a substantial investment in a future-proof production facility, with a strong focus on climate and environmental improvements.
For the foundation works, Vroom installed DPA-combi screw piles using the Hillcon HSCX700GLS. In addition to execution, we provided advice and investigation, engineering, and pile integrity testing. This ensured that the entire foundation process was carefully prepared, inspected and tailored to the site conditions.
The site conditions were challenging: an existing pipe bridge restricted the available working height. An adapted foundation machine with a reduced mast height was therefore selected. This required craftsmanship, flexibility and thorough preparation.

Thanks to the experience and skill of our people on site, the works were carried out safely and efficiently. We also responded quickly when additional work and welding permits were required for essential maintenance, ensuring that the works could continue responsibly.
A concrete floor approximately one metre thick will be constructed on the installed piles. This will form the foundation for two new buildings and support the continued development of the production facility for decades to come.
The expansion forms part of an extensive sustainability programme. By further electrifying processes, applying industrial heat pumps and producing green gas from residual streams, both energy consumption and CO₂ emissions will be significantly reduced. The project therefore contributes to a cleaner, more efficient industrial operation with less impact on the surrounding area.
Vroom made an important contribution through the use of low-emission equipment, a smart execution method and foundation engineering tailored to the site conditions.
This is how we combine technical decisiveness with a sustainable foundation for the future.
