27 apartments, “De Overbrugging” development

In Noord-Scharwoude, in the local authority area of Langedijk, a newbuild project called De Overbrugging is in development. The site in question is on land formerly occupied by the community centre, which had the same name.

Vroom Funderingstechnieken (Vroom Foundation Technology) is producing concrete screw piles with a diameter of 500 mm in lengths of up to 23 metres. Concrete screw piles were developed for projects on sandy ground and can also be used in other, specific ground conditions. They do not displace soil and are produced at a relatively rapid rate. Production is vibration-free and low in noise.

Need for new construction

The old community centre was demolished back in 2017. Ad Jongenelen, responsible within the local authority for construction projects, explained on behalf of the municipal executive that he wanted to try and meet the great demand for housing in Langedijk. In addition, the municipal executive believes that it is important for the plan to fit in with the surrounding area, that future construction is suitable for all stages of life, meets the zero-meter-usage (NOM) energy standards, and that residential buildings are designed to be contemporary and challenging, using sustainable materials.
