The complex is made up of 56 apartments split between two buildings, 10 residential units overlooking a communal roof terrace adjacent to phase 1a, a parking facility with 145 spaces, and a vibrant courtyard.
For this project Vroom is making vibrated HBF-type piles. Vibrated piles can be made in long lengths and the delivery time is always short. In this development the piles measure around 27 metres. The use of a noise-reducing jacket during the work ensures that it can proceed without creating too much noise disturbance.
Diversity aplenty
The Holenkwartier development offers a total of 300 owner-occupied homes, 80 social-housing dwellings and 20 mid-sector rental dwellings. This means a wide variety of residential housing for a broad, varied target group. In time there will be living arrangements ranging from loft spaces to studios and from dwellings with space for you to work from home to town houses. A section of the industrial production halls will be converted into unique loft-space dwellings.
The architecture and public space will be varied, each style and space having its own atmosphere and character. The first phase was started in January 2021 and, in January 2022, a start was made on phase 1b. The 5.2-hectare former Philips site on the Holenweg in Hoorn breathes industrial history. For Terra Marique the rough-and-ready terrain, with its characteristic industrial heritage, is the backdrop for the development of a new and refreshing urban residential area. One that will surely prove to be a real draw for Hoorn, with its special combination of different types of dwelling, culture and businesses.
In 2014, ideas were created and allowed time to mature under the banner of Het Land van Hoorn. This came to fruition in 2015. The result is the Holenkwartier: the foremost new living and working area of Hoorn. A special part of Hoorn will be created where the Ideefabriek Hoorn once stood. The Holenkwartier is going to become a beacon of urban renewal with a mixture of residential, work, culture and relaxation uses, while retaining the production halls of the 1960s that give the location its character.
You can live or work here in a relaxed environment, one in which there is a surprising urban edginess. The Holenkwartier is within walking and cycling distance of both the centre of Hoorn and the Markermeer, in the midst of the sports fields. FLIP is the production hall that forms the beating heart of the Holenkwartier: restaurants, pavement café, a coffee bar, a bakery and, perhaps, a cooking studio. It is a place where residents and visitors alike can meet, work and relax.
