A9 tunnel

We are working quite hard alongside the A9 freeway near Amsterdam Zuid-Oost. Under the authority of building company group IXAS and using 4 lanes simultaneously, we are working on the capacity for a huge tunnel with additional lanes and reversible lanes.

We are using four rigs in order to insert over 2,100 piles. We are processing four different pile diameters and lengths. The piles are being realized on-site so that we require fewer heavy transport actions to the site. The piles are being made by inserting a temporary framework (steel pipe) into the ground and placing concrete and a reinforcement basket into it. Subsequently, we pull the framework out to use it again.
