Building a sustainable solution together

2,215 piles8 business units

Together with Hercuton, Vroom delivered a future-oriented foundation project at Royal FloraHolland in Honselersdijk. With a smart combination of electric equipment and Stage V technology, a sustainable and practical solution was found for this modern development.

In September last year, Hercuton submitted a request for precast concrete piles. From the very beginning, one aspect was central: limiting emissions on the construction site. Together, a critical assessment was made of the equipment to be used and the possibilities of working with cleaner fuels and technologies. The option of using vibro piles within a fully electric project soon emerged. A great, sustainable step forward. In practice, however, the available power capacity on the construction site proved insufficient to carry out the entire project electrically.

By continuing to search together for a smart solution, a combination was chosen: one electric machine supplemented by a modern Stage V engine. In this way, a significant reduction in emissions was still achieved without compromising the progress and quality of the work. A great example of how collaboration, craftsmanship, and a solution-oriented approach lead to a sustainable and practical result.

Redevelopment of the Royal FloraHolland site

Work is underway on a new, future-oriented development at the Royal FloraHolland auction site in Honselersdijk. On the location where the Pyramid once stood, a modern complex with eight business units is being built. These units have been specifically designed for the floriculture sector and meet the growing demand for efficient and functional business spaces. This development gives the site a new impulse and responds to the continued professionalization and sustainability of the sector. A great step towards a future-proof use of this important part of Westland business activity.
