For the foundation of the expansion project, 145 piles have been produced on-site. The choice for DPA piles has been made and they have been applied with a low vibration and sound level. In collaboration with JP van Eesteren, the piles have been realized at high pace so that further construction activities could be continued soon.
The expansion
The atrium and the central lobby on the backside of the hospital will be expanded. On both sides of the lobby, two buildings will be expanded. This is where the Nuclear Medicine, Clinical Pathology and DNA Diagnostic departments will be expanded as matching technical rooms, offices and work areas will be realized. In addition, a wing for prevention, revalidation and after-care for cancer patients will be built which will include a training and revalidation hall, cardio fitness facilities and rooms for psycho-social guidance. Onto the new-to-build parts, technical rooms for the electricity installation systems, ventilation, warming and cooling down systems and a separate extraction system will be realized.
