Schilder Vis in Enkhuizen is a fish smoking and wholesale business, specializing in the smoking and processing of eel and salmon. They also offer a variety of other smoked and fresh fish products, with methods that remain traditional. Schilder Vis does not use electric cabinets in their smoking process. The fish varieties are smoked in large wood-fired smoking cabinets, preserving the authentic artisanal quality and taste of the past. After years of working in the eel trade from a young age, Theo Schilder started his own fish shop in 1984. He soon bought a small building in the industrial area to smoke eel himself. Over the years, the business has grown steadily, always focusing on craftsmanship and quality. It has since become a supplier to various fish shops, wholesalers, and catering businesses. The third generation has now joined the company's management. And now, the necessary expansion of the business premises is underway to further realize the growth ambitions.
