Fundation work for the new heart of Haarlem

677 piles400 apartments

For the redevelopment of Schalkwijk Centrum, we produced HEK screw piles with grout injection. This low-noise and vibration-free foundation method is ideally suited to this urban transformation into a vibrant residential and working area. The client for this project is affiliated with Bewuste Bouwers.

Using two piling rigs, we produced HEK screw piles with grout injection at this construction site. This fully displacement pile is formed in the ground and installed vibration-free and with low noise emissions; ideal for urban projects where environmental disturbance must be kept to an absolute minimum. The choice for this pile system was necessary due to the heavy soil conditions. During the production process, grout spoil is generated, which we remove using a hose pump to a recycling system from Methorst. Here, the sand is separated and the cement water is reused. The auxiliary equipment deployed was electric, contributing to further emission reductions on the construction site. This circular approach reduces transport movements, CO₂, and nitrogen emissions. Thanks to close cooperation with the client and construction partners, this technically complex project could be executed smoothly and harmoniously.

New city centre for Haarlem Schalkwijk

In this section of the development, two buildings are being constructed, comprising more than 400 apartments, commercial spaces, a library, and an inner courtyard. The client for this project is affiliated with Bewuste Bouwers, an initiative aiming to create positive change within the construction and infrastructure sectors by establishing sustainable, safe, and respectful construction sites that consider the environment, surroundings, and all stakeholders.

Trebbe-De Nijs is realising a residential tower, designed by GROOSMAN architects, featuring a total of 240 apartments arranged around a green inner courtyard. Ymere and Pré Wonen are jointly acquiring these apartments. 80 apartments are intended for social rental by Pré Wonen. A further 68 apartments are designated for social rental by Ymere. In addition, Ymere is acquiring 92 apartments for the mid-market rental sector. Alongside the residential building with 240 apartments, Trebbe-De Nijs is also constructing a residential tower approximately 70 metres high. This tower, designed by INBO, will house 162 two-, three- and four-room apartments intended for sale, as well as two commercial spaces. Here, living, working, and leisure are seamlessly integrated into one comprehensive experience. This ambitious urban development project will give the Schalkwijk district an entirely new identity.
