150 homes for De Veiling

7600 m pile3500 m foundation

The power of prefab has become clearer than ever during this project! Within an exceptional time frame, in collaboration with Appel Beton, we are applying the foundations for 150 homes.

The foundation consists of over 1,000 prefab piles, 3,500 m of prefab foundation elements and 96 prefab shed floors. The foundation piles of all homes have been driven within three weeks. Every day, we have mounted prefab foundation beams for 30 homes which comes down to five mounting days for all residences.

Very accurate basis

Other than construction speed, the application of a prefab foundation results into a very accurate basis for the rest of the construction. Prefab foundation beams are being produced at the factory based on steel patterns which make them very dimensionally stable. As the elements are also being accurately dimensioned on the building site, they are being mounted very exactly until the last millimetre. As a result of this good base, the rest of the construction process can go on the same accurate way.

Light work, fast results

Mounting the prefab foundation is done with a mobile crane. As opposed to traditional foundation systems with reinforcement baskets that often have to be placed manually, the work that people have to do in order to mount the prefab foundation beams is relatively light. As we produce on a large scale every day, we make a lot of progress on the building site.

From auction to residential area

On the auction’s site (known in the greater Utrecht area), a new residential area is arising. The homes have been designed and built in Dudok style, one of The Netherlands’ most renowned and internationally acclaimed architects. A total of 300 residences will be realized according to the De Veiling plan with this stage including 146 homes for sale and 4 homes for rent.

Living in Het Zand

In Het Zand, current countryside elements and farmhouses perfectly come together with the new homes. Old orchards, alder and mayflower tree rows, ditches and meanders have been preserved and re-established. With old and new going hand in hand, the spacious lay-out, a lot of green areas and a wide architectural variety, you will immediately feel like being home. Het Zand dissociates itself from a traditional new residential area and surprises with its own outspoken personality. This is living as living should be: spacious and comfortable, free and hospitable, green and calming.
