At this location, directly next to Utrecht University, Vroom Funderingstechnieken successfully realised a technically challenging foundation project in close cooperation with client BAM Nederland. A project in which safety, expertise and solution-oriented working were central.
During the preliminary phase, the focus was initially on applying our DPA screw piles. However, after extensive calculations and consultation, an alternative foundation solution was selected: the installation of DPA-PLUS screw piles, combined with a number of screwed steel tube piles. For the execution of these works, our subsidiary VDB Funderingstechnieken was deployed, enabling us to make optimum use of our combined knowledge and experience.
A particular challenge within this project was the fact that the existing building was largely retained. The original frame remained in place, which placed high demands on execution and required precision, craftsmanship and a well-considered approach. A complexity from which Vroom does not step back. Through good and continuous consultation with BAM, we jointly ensured a safe and flawless execution.
Logistically, this project also required an innovative approach. With our foundation machine, we drove through the existing frame, while raising the mast of the machine during movement. Thanks to this working method, we were able to safely reach the courtyard and efficiently install the foundation piles there, without compromising safety or quality.
A project that clearly demonstrates what Vroom stands for: committed collaboration, technical decisiveness and reliable solutions, even under the most challenging circumstances.
