For the foundation of this project, Vroom Funderingstechnieken has manufactured vibro-combi piles. These are used for the underground construction of a multi-level parking garage with approximately 220 parking spaces. The unique properties of the vibro-piles, including the installation of pile heads below the heaving surface, provide a robust foundation and contribute to a quieter construction environment. The use of a special noise jacket also significantly reduces noise levels, creating a more pleasant living environment for local residents.
The project is being realised in collaboration with various partners, including Kwadrant B.V. as the client and SBB Ontwikkelen en Bouwen as the contractor. The architectural design is by Klunder Architecten, while Vroom Funderingstechnieken is responsible for the foundation and construction of the residential towers.
Sustainable living in Maarssen
The new residential towers in Maarssen offer more than just comfort. With an aim to achieve an Energy Performance Coefficient (EPC) of only 0.25, the project targets minimal energy costs for future residents. This is part of a broader commitment to sustainability, focusing on energy efficiency and environmentally conscious construction. The development is integrated into the Ruimtekwartier plan, creating a campus-like setting with extensive green spaces and a cohesive landscape design. This setup not only enhances living enjoyment but also strengthens the connection with the natural environment. Watch the project video for an impression of the progress of the foundation works.
This project demonstrates how old office spaces can be revitalised through innovative construction techniques and sustainable solutions. The transformation of Het Kwadrant in Maarssen offers a glimpse into the future of urban development, where efficiency, sustainability, and livability go hand in hand.
